§  Users can Sign Up for a account.
§  User can select Sinhala, Tamil or English to use Kaputa.lk.
§  Users can create an profile in order to show information.
§  Users can also upload photos, audio, video and links where other users can post comments.
§  Users also can chat with friends..
§  Users can share photos to other networks (facebook  , twitter ,g+1), update status.
§  User can get to know about sport, astrology (personal reading, panchanga almanac, porondam) education , music, spiritual, ICT and Travel information.
§  User can use “Kaptionary” as a English Sinhala dictionary.
§  User can connect to email, upload files and send messages.

Instructions

1.     Browse the url www.kaputa.lk.

2.     Select the language as your wish.

3.     Sign in as new user.

4.     Go to the own profile and  edit your profile details (change profile picture and password).

5.     Post some photos, videos, audios, status or links in the wall and connect with other social networks that has given there.

6.     Go to Astrology field.

7.     Change the languages in ‘Astro’ field.

8.     Use dictionary that provided by the site and search some words.

9.     Use search field and check the output results.

10.  Go to the music field and view the results.

11.  View the results of education.

12.  Click chat button and try to access with the chat field.

13.  Then use “Biz”, “Messages”, ”Files” buttons and check the results.

14.  Also send a message to someone.

15.  Log out from the own profile.

    2.    Description.

Kaputa.lk is a social networking site in Sri Lanka. It was very popular in Sri Lanka until 2013. Kaputa.lk was the most popular social networking site in monthly unique visitors behind Facebook , Twitter and MySpace in Sri Lanka at that time.

The largest problem of Kaputa.lk is any outsider can see public posts without logging. The privacy policy on the site does not provide enough protection of the information that users put on the site.

§  Change Home page arrangement

Ø  There have more unused space. So it can be used for advertisements with proper position which will help to make interface more user friendly.

   

§  Change the colour Theme

Ø  This web site currently has unattractive colour theme. It is more effective if use a simple theme to make it more user friendly.

§   Improve security 

Ø   There is not a way to set privacy settings when sharing something in Kaputa.lk. It is not a good improvement as a social network. Privacy is very important to the users. So have to manage it. 

§  Improve proper language changes

Ø  When selecting a language icons in the page should be change according to the language but some icons are not changing. It is uncomfortable and confuse. So have to manage it.

§  Search function

Ø  When searching something, coming  results are not clear. So have to improve it with proper results for make user comfortable.

§  Change the arrangement of Title bar  and the Menu bar

Ø  Title bar and Menu bar is not in proper arrangement. Also icons are not in attractive manner. It is make users uncomfortable. It has to be user friendly.

§  Add proper categories to Music

Ø  When searching music, coming results are not in a proper arrangement. They all are mixed up. It is more user friendly if arrange results in some categories.

§ Improve the features and outlook of the user profile 

§ Add a feature to search friends, add friends to the profile and view there profiles

Ø  User can search new friends, add friends to their own profile by sending friend requests, chat with them and view their profiles.

§  Improve chatting features

Ø  Make a friend list at a side of the window and if user want to know who are online or not, it is indicate in front of the friend’s name. And also introduce a sticker store to improve interesting of the chat.

§  Allow to make friend groups and communicating within the group members privately in addition to common chat

§  Update notifications

          Ø  User can get to know whether he receive new messages.

§  Mention the “contact us” details clearly
